COVID-19 Patient Information

As community transmission of COVID-19 increases, we are taking additional measures to help protect our patients and staff.

We kindly ask that you delay your visit to the clinic if you:

  • Experience any flu-like symptoms (coughing, fever, shortness of breath, muscular aches and pains, headache, sore throat),
  • have tested positive for COVID-19,
  • have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19,
  • have been in contact with any person who has returned from international travel in the last 14 days, or you are feeling unwell.

Please contact Uromed South Brisbane to reschedule your appointment on (07) 32550311.

We are able to offer appointments via Telehealth using Skype. The cost can be discussed with reception before booking. The new government eligibility criteria for bulk billed telephone or Skype consultations are outlined below. Otherwise there will be a non-rebateable fee which will be less than a face to face consultation.

Eligibility criteria:

(a) the person has been diagnosed with COVID-19 virus but who is not a patient of a hospital; or the person has been required to isolate themselves in quarantine in accordance with home isolation guidance issued by Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC); or

(b) the person is considered more susceptible to the COVID-19 virus being a person who is:

  • at least 70 years old; or
  • at least 50 years old and is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent; or
  • is pregnant; or
  • is a parent of a child under 12 months; or
  • is already under treatment for chronic health conditions or is immune compromised; or  the person meets the current national triage protocol criteria for suspected COVID-10 infection

If you are attending our clinic for an appointment, we request that only the patient attends for their appointment. Please help us to maximise social distancing by not bringing family members along unless absolutely necessary.

When attending our waiting room, please ensure you:

  • use the sanitiser available to clean your hands on arrival,
  • use social distancing when dealing with our staff and other patients. A distance of 1.5 metres is recommended.
  • avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, and
  • sneeze or cough into a tissue, or your elbow if necessary, and immediately put tissue in bin and re sanitise your hands.
  • Avoid handshakes and other unnecessary contact
